DWTS Finale Has Begun

The night has begun. The ballroom is pumped, and the pros and stars are present. We have the judges in place, so let’s get the fun started tonight!

The couples will take on three dances tonight: Judges’ Choice, the Instant Dance Challenge, and the freestyle dances. The Judges’ Choice round is up first.

Alix Earle & Val Chmerkovskiy

For this performance, they are dancing a Samba to “Hip Hip Chin Chin” by Club des Belugas. Carrie Ann Inaba chose this for them and came in to give them some pointers.

This was a great performance. A strong start to the finale. They are so good, and she has improved so much. Loved her outfit.

Judges’ Feedback: Carrie Ann said way to start the finale. She is so refined, and she is doing the technique perfectly. Derek said whatever Carrie Ann told you that was so good. Bruno said fasten your seatbelt, it’s going to be a hot night.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30

Dylan Efron & Daniella Karagach on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

We take a look back at the first few weeks of performances from this season. Now on to the next couple. For their Judges’ Choice, they are doing a Paso Doble to “Stampede” by Alexander Jean featuring Lindsey Stirling. Bruno picked this one for them and told him to be the character. Dylan said Bruno better be out of his seat for this one.

After some spins on the floor, the shirt has come off! So, he just won the night, right? He was very much in control of this dance, and it was a very great start for them. The abs definitely distracted from any possible mistakes on “Dancing With the Stars” season 34.

Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said beautiful shapes, and he could watch that over again. Carrie Ann said the hands got a little flat, but still fantastic. Derek said so powerful and so strong, and he is amazing to watch.

Judges’ Scores: 28 out of 30

Elaine Hendrix & Alan Bersten

Despite her injuries, here we are at the DWTS Finale. They are doing a Rumba to “Take My Breath Away” by Jae Hall. Derek comes in to work with them. He said he wants to see this rubberband-like dynamic.

This was such a slow, amazing dance. It was a beautiful dance. Some great moves, and it was so smooth from them.

Judges’ Feedback: Derek said that it was exquisite. Bruno said pure class. Carrie Ann said she has been waiting and waiting to see a dance like this from her. She thanks Alan for giving us this choreography.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30

Robert Irwin & Witney Carson on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

After another look back at performances over the past few weeks, time to move on to the next couple on “Dancing With the Stars” 2025. For their Judges’ Choice performance, Robert and Witney are dancing a Quickstep to “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” by Jet. Derek joined them for training this week. He wants Robert to show us a wide frame for this dance. However, he has been dealing with rib pain, so they might have to alter the choreography.

Pain? Injury? Where did that go? You couldn’t tell on this one, as they had a ton of energy and were flying around that dance floor. This was high energy and fun to watch.

Judges’ Feedback: Derek said the Quickstep King. It was crisp and clean, and the frame was strong. Bruno said the footwork, nimble and light, and the power of a lion. Carrie Ann said amazing, wonderful, but he had a mistake at the beginning.

Judges’ Scores: 29 out of 30

Jordan Chiles & Ezra Sosa

For their first performance of the night, they are taking on a Paso Doble to “Breakin’ Dishes” by Rihanna for Judges’ Choice. They are joined by Carrie Ann for training. She said this dance is perfect for Jordan, as she is fierce. She shows her the tricks and tips to make her stand out more during the routine.

Such a strong performance. I mean, that twist down into the splits? They are very strong, and they seemed to be in sync on this one. This was a fierce song choice and a fierce routine. I loved it.

Judges’ Feedback: Carrie Ann said her attack was a little too strong to start. Derek said she did the thing, and that was strong and powerful. Bruno said she just goes for it with so much determination; she’s great.

Judges’ Scores: 29 out of 30

Alix & Val – Instant Dance Challenge

For this second performance, they are doing a Cha Cha to “Where Is My Husband” by Raye. They previously performed a Cha Cha in Week 1, so she said this could be her redemption performance.

I wasn’t sure what this song choice was, but it’s a good one. They, again, are such a strong couple. Instant dance, but a good performance.

Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said the transformation is incredible. Carrie Ann said blown away because that was fantastic, and they rose to the occasion. Derek said this just shows what they’ve learned this season.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30, so a total of 60 out of 60 so far.

Dylan & Daniella – Instant Dance Challenge

For this round, they pick a Foxtrot to “Ordinary” by Alex Warren. He is excited about the song choice, but not sure about the instant dance option.

I think they did a good job. I feel like she was controlling this one more, to stand out more over him. He had some stumbles, it seemed like.

Judges’ Feedback: Carrie Ann said that was unbelievable, and a true testament to how far he’s come. Derek said the control, the way he used his legs, the fluidity. Bruno said the quality of movement.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30, so a total of 58 out of 60 for the night.

Elaine & Alan – Instant Dance Challenge

For this performance, they are dancing a Quickstep to “You Can’t Hurry Love” by The Supremes. They danced a Quickstep during Disney Night and finished second on the leaderboard.

She said she was going to follow Alan on this one if she got lost. Not sure if she got lost, but she definitely was following him, and they worked it out. This was quick and fun.

Judges’ Feedback: Derek said the Quickstep Queen. A little misstep, but she is sensational. Bruno said glossy and glamorous as ever, but there were some foot faults. Carrie Ann said a few minor things, but she loved how she carried herself throughout the dance.

Judges’ Scores: 27 out of 30, so a total of 57 out of 60 for the night so far.

Robert & Witney – Instant Dance Challenge

For this instant dance, they are doing a Cha Cha to “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE. In rehearsals, he said the one style he didn’t want was Cha Cha, and here we are. He also learns from the song, so not having a song will make this one hard for him.

You could see he was definitely struggling with this one, but he had a smile on his face the whole time. He is just too cute, right? He snapped the shirt open to end it.

Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said so much better, and he was on fire. Carrie Ann said this challenge is about the partnership. Derek said he was nervous for that one, but it was so incredibly impressive.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30, so a total of 59 out of 60 so far.

Jordan & Ezra – Instant Dance Challenge

For this performance, they will be taking on a Tango to the song “I Like It” by Alesso, Nate Smith, and Sentinel. In training, Ezra said he’s never done an instant dance before. They didn’t want the Jive, and she wanted to dominate another Tango, so she must be happy.

With their height difference, you have to think Ezra is feeling some pain in his back. However, they always make it work, and she is doing some amazing flips and tricks in this routine. They did a very good job.

Judges’ Feedback: Carrie Ann said what they just performed was fantastic, and their spotting was amazing. Derek said they couldn’t have thought of a better dance for that challenge for her. Bruno said fabulous.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30, so a total of 59 out of 60 so far.

Alix & Val – Freestyle

We have now made it to the final round of dances on “Dancing With the Stars” season 34. The rules are out the door, as they can do whatever they want here. For this routine, they will perform to “Maneater” by Nelly Furtado and “Sports car” by Tate McRae. They are putting in different dance styles. They are not playing a character, but her as her dominant self.

Such an intense start to this one. She was working that dress and was so in sync with the troupe and their flags. I love that Val stepped aside and let her have a moment with the troupe, where she was the star. This was very, very solid, and so, so intense.

Judges’ Feedback: Derek said she is an absolute superstar, phenomenal freestyle. Bruno said she was like a shewolf, the leader of the pack. Carrie Ann said she is touched by her. She has delivered the most exquisite dances and feels so connected to her journey.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30, so a perfect night for them. They got 90 out of 90 points.

Dylan & Daniella – Freestyle Dance

They get emotional during their final rehearsals. Dylan said he was not proud of himself after the first couple of weeks, but then cried as he said he is proud of himself now. He said he has fallen in love with dance, so they are going to do a routine about dance and him falling in love with it. They will dance to “Something In The Heavens” by Lewis Capaldi.

I feel like I will be saying this all night, oh my. Such a beautiful dance, and so, so good.

Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said beautiful, poetic. Carrie Ann said this dance was the perfect representation of what this show is about. Derek said he embodies this sincere, kind masculinity. It was so tender and present, and he is such a good man.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30, so a total of 88 out of 90 for the night.

Taking a break from the Freestyle Dances, we get an update on Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, the season 33 champions. They then take the stage to perform together again, as they get ready to hand over the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy to the new winners.

Elaine & Alan – Freestyle Dance

She said this show has taught her how to believe in herself like she never has before. Elaine said she is going to dance again after this show, as they both cry. They will be dancing to “I Hope I Get It (from A Chorus Line)” by District 78. She said this is so fitting for her and her career.

I mean, could there have been a more perfect song choice for her? This was so fun to watch. It was cute and entertaining. She was the leading lady, and I was so entertained.

Judges’ Feedback: Carrie Ann said it’s so beautiful to see, it was wonderful. Derek said it’s been a pleasure to have a front row seat to this full Broadway production. Bruno said she’s got it.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30, so a total of 87 out of 90 for the night.

Robert & Witney – Freestyle Dance

He said he wants this freestyle to show his love for America and a big thank you. Robert said he wouldn’t be here without his dad and his legacy. He wishes his dad could be here for all of this, as the tears are already coming. They are performing to “Black & Gold” by Sam Sparro and “The Nights” by Avicii, but his ribs were definitely giving him issues during rehearsals.

Of all the freestyles, I was most excited about this one. They did not disappoint. There were so many people on that dance floor, but Robert held his own. They put on a show, and it was so fun to watch.

Judges’ Feedback: Derek said he has just done the most beautiful freestyle, and he is a dancer. Bruno said he sees you, and that was a solid performance. Carrie Ann said there is so much love in this room for you.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30, so a total of 89 out of 90 for the night.

Jordan & Ezra – Freestyle Dance

They said they are getting emotional at rehearsal. She said this show has helped remind her who she is, and Ezra helps her with that. They will be performing to Freestyle to “Motivation” by Normani. She said the Mirrorball would be more to her than the gold medal, as she would dance in her room as a child.

I mean, wow is all I can say here. They just put on a show. This was beyond good, like so powerful, and so darn good. They even brought out Normani for this one.

Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said this was an incredible showstopper. Carrie Ann said she is a powerful woman of color, and she showed them how it was done. That was the best freestyle she has seen. Derek said he thoroughly enjoyed it, and that was so incredible.

Judges’ Scores: 30 out of 30, so a total of 89 out of 90 for the night.
